The Problem
Why this needed to exist
Physicians spend two or more hours every day on documentation. SOAP notes are manual and tedious. Current tools on the market don't understand the nuance of clinical context, turning a tool meant to help into another administrative burden.
The AI transcription and generation had to be perfectly integrated into existing EHR/EMR setups. A standalone tool that required doctors to copy-paste would fail adoption instantly.
My Role
As Senior Product Designer, I led the ambient listening and AI note generation flow, working closely with clinical advisors to ensure the generated documentation met medical legal standards.
Process & Key Decisions
How we got there
The core design challenge was figuring out how to display AI-generated notes for physician review. This was an exercise in trust and verification UX. I designed an interface that clearly highlighted what the AI inferred versus what was explicitly stated.
Before

After

A major undertaking was building the multi-specialty template system. Cardiology, dermatology, and general practice all require vastly different note structures. I established a dynamic component system that adapted the output format based on the scheduled appointment type.

ComHub Interface
Doctors don't want an AI to make decisions for them. They just want it to do the paperwork so they can look the patient in the eye.

The Solution

Reflection
Designing an ambient clinical tool taught me the true meaning of invisible UI. The best interface for AizaMD™ was often no interface at all, just a system silently working in the background. Ensuring the verification step was frictionless was the critical factor in user retention.
